Charles Barkley torches Rudy Gobert for throwing punch at Kyle Anderson (Video)

Charles Barkley unloaded a hilarious roasting take of Rudy Gobert after the Timberwolves big was suspended for throwing a punch at his teammate.

Somehow, the fight for seeding in the Western Conference on the final day of the NBA regular season wasn’t the most dramatic part of the day leading into the NBA Playoffs. Minnesota Timberwolves big man Rudy Gobert made sure of that.

You’ve surely seen it by now, but Gobert and Timberwolves teammate Kyle Anderson got heated on the sidelines in the team’s game against the Pelicans, and the big man had enough, throwing a punch at Anderson before backing up. He was eventually ushered to the locker room and suspended for the Play-In Tournament by the Wolves.

During the NBA on TNT pregame show for the Play-In games on Tuesday night, though — a slate that featured the No. 8 seed Timberwolves on the road in Los Angeles against the Lakers — the Gobert topic was unavoidable. And leave it to Charles Barkley to offer the best comments yet on the subject.

Not only did Barkley admonish Gobert for punching and running away, but he acted it out playfully with Kenny Smith on the set at Turner Studios for a hilarious moment.

Charles Barkley roasts Rudy Gobert over throwing punch

Barkley obviously knows that throwing a punch at a teammate is the biggest issue, but he does raise a good point that Gobert also ducked out of the confrontation after trying to hit Anderson, which somehow makes him look even worse in the ugly situation.

It’s crazy that, despite having a teammate try to punch another teammate, the Timberwolves still won on Sunday against New Orleans, putting them in the situation on Tuesday night where, if they beat the Lakers on the road, they are the No. 7 seed in the West.

Of course, with Gobert suspended because of the punch, that task is much more difficult than it otherwise would’ve been.
