Tyler Herro injury update doesn’t move Heat vs. Nuggets Game 5 line

The Heat are down 3-1 in the NBA Finals and it’s in desperation mode, and now it be using it’s final card in terms of adjustments.

Tyler Herro has been out since the middle of Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs with a broken hand, and while his return has been teased throughout the Finals, Herro hasn’t played just yet. However, he may be on the verge of returning in Game 5 with the Heat on the brink of elimination.

Multiple media outlets reported Monday afternoon that Herro has been upgraded to “questionable” on Miami’s injury report. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski went so far as to tweet that Herro is “expected to suit up.”

Herro will hopefully add an offensive punch that the Heat have lacked through the first four games. While Miami went nuclear in the fourth quarter of Game 2, finishing with 111 points, the team hasn’t scored more than 95 points in the other three games.

However, oddsmakers aren’t concerned about the Nuggets chances with the return of Herro, not budging its line off of -9 after the initial report.

It’s worth noting that the Heat have struggled on the defensive end against Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and the Nuggets offense. Denver is scoring .01 points per possession less than the best offense in the regular season during the first four games.

Herro is not known for his defense, but his return could boost the offense to be more comparable to Denver’s.

We’ll monitor for confirmation that Herro is a go and if this line shifts anymore leading up to tip-off for Game 5. For now, here are
