NBA best bets today (Predictions for Kyle Kuzma, Dennis Schroder and Knicks-Lakers)

It may be Selection Sunday, but it’s still a perfect time to bet on the NBA, especially since we have a New York Knicks-Los Angeles Lakers showdown in primetime on Sunday night.

I have two plays in that game, as well as a pair of player props for the earlier slate on Sunday.

This week has been a strong one, moving the season record in the column to +16.4 units. Let’s keep the momentum going tonight:

NBA best bets record to date

NBA best bets today

  • Los Angeles Lakers Moneyline (-150) vs. New York Knicks
  • Dennis Schroder OVER 16.5 Points and Assists (-125)
  • Kyle Kuzma OVER 19.5 Points (-110)
  • Royce O’Neale OVER 1.5 3-Pointers Made (+100)

Los Angeles Lakers Moneyline (-150) vs. New York Knicks

The New York Knicks are likely without star guard Jalen Brunson, which puts the Lakers (8-3 since the trade deadline) in a favorable spot tonight.

New York is just 3-4 on the season without Brunson and has lost three straight games, struggling on offense in the process.

Meanwhile, the Lakers are fresh off a comeback win over Toronto and have D’Angelo Russell back in the lineup.

New York has been great against the spread on the road all season, but I’m fading this team on the second night of a back-to-back without its best player.

Dennis Schroder OVER 16.5 Points and Assists (-125)

Dennis Schroder and the didn’t seem to take a step back in his role with the return of D’Angelo Russell, scoring 23 points and adding seven assists in the team’s win over the Toronto Raptors.

Over his last eight games, Schroder has cleared this line in each of them, and he’s averaging 12.8 points and 4.8 assists per game on the season.

There are some 17.5’s out there, but if you can get him at 16.5 (I did at DraftKings), it’s a solid play.

Kyle Kuzma OVER 19.5 Points (-110)

This is a low points prop for Kuzma, who is averaging 21.4 points per game on the season.

Kuz has cleared this line in six of his last 10 games since returning from injury, taking 19.1 shots per game over that stretch.

While the Philadelphia 76ers are ninth in the NBA in defensive rating, they are just 24th in that statistic over their last 10 games. Go OVER here with Kuzma.

Royce O’Neale OVER 1.5 3-Pointers Made (+100)

Royce O’Neale has only cleared this line in five of his last 10 games, but he’s seen a ton of volume from beyond the arc, attempting 4.6 shots from deep per game over that stretch.

On the season, O’Neale is shooting 39.4 percent from 3, and he’s averaging 2.2 made 3s per game.

In a game where the Brooklyn Nets are expected to be trailing the Denver Nuggets, I expect O’Neale to get some solid looks from deep to attempt to keep the team in it.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
