Clippers vs. Bucks prediction and odds for Thursday, February 2 (Value on total)

The LA Clippers have been lurking as a talented team that’s either been injured or underperformed, but suddenly, they’ve ripped off six wins in their last seven games. The hot streak has jumped them to fourth in the Western Conference at 29-25, but only 2.5 games separate them from the 11th spot. They need to keep winning to have a long stay near the top of the conference, but that’s a tough task in Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee Bucks are 34-27 and 21-5 at home. The Bucks are 2.5 games behind Boston for the No. 1 seed in the East. They have a five game win streak going at the moment. Here are the odds for the Clippers and Bucks in Milwaukee.

Clippers vs. Bucks odds, spread and total

Clippers vs. Bucks prediction and pick

The Clippers are not only playing well, but they’re also very friendly to bettors recently. LA is 5-1 against the spread in their last six games overall. Tonight they’re getting 4.5 points on the road. With both teams coming in on hot streaks, I think I’ll stay away from betting a side, even though I believe Milwaukee will win. Instead, I’ll bet the total.

In January, Milwaukee was fifth in pace, but were only 22nd in offensive rating. Even with the poor efficiency, the Bucks scored the 11th most points per game in January. Conversely, the Clippers played at a very slow pace last month, and they have all season. However, they were a top 10 team in offensive rating. As the home team, I think Milwaukee will set the pace and speed this game up. If they can, the Clippers efficiency could drop some, but not far enough for this game to go under its 230 total.
