Warriors vs. Wizards prediction and odds for Monday, January 16 (Can Golden State get road win?)

The Golden State Warriors can’t seem to win games on the road, losing once again on Sunday to the Chicago Bulls.

The Warriors are 4-17 straight up away from Chase Center this season, and they are on the road in a back-to-back to take on the Washington Wizards on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Golden State will have Steph Curry in the lineup, but Klay Thompson is sitting the second leg of a back-to-back, per usual.

The Wizards have listed All-Star guard Bradley Beal as questionable for this game. If he can play, it would be a major boost to Washington’s offense.

After a strong start of the season, Washington is now 12th in the Eastern Conference. I’ve been all about fading the Wizards this season since they rank 25th in the NBA in net rating.

Can Washington take advantage of playing a Warriors team that struggles on the road?

Here’s a look at the latest odds and a pick for this matchup:

Warriors vs. Wizards prediction and pick

I have a hard time betting on the Warriors whenever they are on the road, but I’m going to take a chance against a Washington team that simply is one of the worst teams in the NBA.

Even if Beal returns, the Wizards have really struggled on offense this season, ranking 21st in the NBA.

With Curry back, Golden State has a chance to make a run in the Western Conference, but it starts with the team needing to play better on the defensive end.

Luckily for the Warriors, Washington is average as a home dog (5-4 against the spread), and its lost four of its last five games, scoring less than 115 points in all of those matchups.

Golden State is 4-4 against the spread on the second night of a back-to-back this season, which is shocking since Curry and Thompson usually sit out those games.

I’ll take Golden State on the moneyline to bounce back in this spot.
