The Boston Celtics are massive favorites against the Houston Rockets on Tuesday night, and I think that gives some value to Al Horford’s rebounds prop.
Horford has cleared 6.5 boards in just seven of his 25 games this season, failing to go over this number in nine of his last 10 contests.
As shocking as it may be, the Rockets are the No. 1 team in the NBA in terms of rebounding percentage, so Boston may have some trouble racking up stats on the glass tonight.
Horford is averaging 6.3 rebounds per game, and with this game potentially turning into a blowout with Boston sitting as a 14.5-point favorite, I’ll gladly follow the trend and take the UNDER on Horford. – Peter Dewey
Orlando Magic First Quarter Moneyline (-120) vs. Los Angeles Lakers
The Orlando Magic have quietly been one of the league’s best teams over their last 10 games, covering in all 10 matchups while also going 8-2 straight up.
They now host the Los Angeles Lakers who fell apart on Christmas on the road to the Dallas Mavericks, and while LeBron James and Dennis Schröder are listed as probable, they could end up being even more short-handed vs. Magic squad that ranks fifth overall in net rating over this stretch.
So why just the first quarter? It’s an area the Magic have been great in at home all season, but especially over the last 10 games where they rank sixth in 1Q net rating at home. The Lakers, on the other hand, are just 25th.
