Best NBA prop bets today (Deandre Ayton set to dominate Wizards)

With a five-game slate in the NBA on Tuesday, the BetSided team of Peter Dewey and Ben Heisler have narrowed their sights on two games for their best props of the day.

Ben is looking to fade the Washington Wizards’ putrid defense against the Phoenix Suns while Peter isn’t sold on one of the prop lines for Klay Thompson at Madison Square Garden.

Let’s break down each pick for the action on Dec. 20:

Best NBA Prop Bets Today

  • Deandre Ayton OVER 18.5 PTS (-118)
  • Klay Thompson UNDER 4.5 3-Pointers (-150)

Deandre Ayton OVER 18.5 PTS (-118)

Deandre Ayton has a terrific matchup tonight against a pitiful Washington Wizards defense that ranks fourth-worst in the league in defensive rating over their last 10 games, and 22nd overall.

Aside from the 14:30 he played in the game vs. Houston, finishing with five points and three boards, Ayton has cleared this line in three of four and six of his last seven.

With the Wizards’ frontcourt not able to get stops, Ayton and the Suns should dominate on the glass, especially cleaning up missed shots and get easy second-chance points.
The number is too low for the quality of matchup for Ayton this evening. – Ben Heisler

Klay Thompson UNDER 4.5 3-Pointers (-150)

The Golden State Warriors won’t have Steph Curry against the New York Knicks, but don’t buy into this high line for Klay Thompson.

Klay hit four 3-pointers in his first game against the Knicks this season, but he’s failed to hit five or more treys in seven of his last nine games.

New York has really improved on defense over this winning streak, holding opponents to just 30.2 percent shooting from beyond the arc, the best defensive mark in the league.

I’ll fade Klay even at the -150 odds. – Peter Dewey
