Steph Curry wins NBA Finals MVP: Best memes and reactions

Steph Curry silenced his critics by leading the Golden State Warriors to the NBA Championship and then winning the NBA Finals MVP.

Stephen Curry has been doubted and underestimated throughout his NBA career.

On Thursday, he made it that much harder for his haters by winning his first NBA Finals MVP and fourth championship with the Warriors.

His performance in the Finals against the Celtics was unassailable. He was a unanimous pick for FMVP for a reason after averaging 31 points per game in the series. In Game 6, he put up 34.

Twitter gave the man his due.

The Finals MVP award was pretty much the last thing left for Curry to accomplish in his career. It was the thing that people held over his head as a gap in his legacy.

Now that he’s got one, there shouldn’t be a question of whether or not he’s a Top 10 player in NBA history. The only question is how long it will take before people come to grips with that fact.

Curry has been the face of the Warriors dynasty with four NBA titles, six NBA Finals appearances, two MVP awards and eight All-Star nods. He went from being considered one of the great pure shooters of all time to making his case for being one of the greatest players of all time, period.

This doesn’t feel like a swan song either. Golden State is built for even more success with years left in Curry and Klay Thompson continuing his return from his lengthy injury absence. New blood like Jordan Poole and James Wiseman only makes the dynasty look stronger.
