NBA Twitter can’t get enough of Luka Doncic dropping sick dimes, blowing out Pistons

Luka Doncic put on a show for the Mavericks against the Pistons on Wednesday night, stunning NBA Twitter with his no-look passes.

The Mavericks continued to put pressure on the Warriors for third place in the Western Conference on Wednesday by blowing out the Pistons in Detroit.

The postseason implications of the game certainly mattered, but NBA Twitter had a whole lot more to say about the performance of Dallas’ Luka Doncic.

Doncic has made a habit of delivering double-digit dimes this season, tallying 14 on Wednesday to take his season total to 27 games with 10 or more.

It was the nature of a couple of those assists that had Twitter talking.

Luka Doncic stunned NBA Twitter in Mavericks-Pistons

While racking up 26 points, 14 assists and eight rebounds, Doncic made viewers do double-takes with passes that looked more like optical illusions than anything.

Twitter was full of people trying to make sense of that backward-no-look toss and more.

The 131-113 victory over the Pistons took the Mavericks to 50 wins on the season for the first time in Doncic’s career. They are half a game behind the Warriors and pretty much assured the No. 4 seed or better in the playoffs.

Doncic is averaging 28.3 points, 9.1 rebounds, 8.7 assists and 1.2 steals in his fourth season in the league.

He’s proven he can wow crowds in the regular season. The next big hurdle is advancing beyond the first round of the NBA Playoffs.

Dallas will close out their season with home games against the Trailblazers and Spurs on Friday and Sunday.
