LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers

LeBron missed a clutch free throw and Skip Bayless lost his damn mind

After LeBron James couldn’t deliver for the Lakers down the stretch on Saturday night, Skip Bayless loss his mind on Twitter.

With the game on the line between the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors, of course LeBron James wanted the ball in his hands. Down 117-114, James had overtime on his mind and after he was fouled on a 3-point attempt, he could have forced OT by burying all three of his free throws.

Instead, James’ first shot rimmed out. After hitting his second one, James purposely missed attempt No. 3 to try and get the Lakers the ball back to tie things up the hard way. It didn’t work out and the Lakers saw their record fall to 26-31. As you might have been able to guess, Skip Bayless rushed to Twitter to troll James for blowing it late.

Skip Bayless trolls LeBron James after tough Lakers loss

Bayless never stops, does he? He conveniently forgot to go after Anthony Davis, who could have tied things up at 115 late, but he also missed a shot from the charity stripe. Also, don’t let Bayless’ troll job fool you on James’ performance from the free-throw line in his career.

Per stats from nba.com, James is a 73.4 percent free-throw shooter for his career, connecting on an even better 74.4 percent of his clutch free throws. Oh, and in the playoffs, James has made 76 percent of his clutch free throws.

As you can see from those stats, Bayless is way off base here with his remarks on James. It’s not the first time Bayless has been wrong and it most certainly won’t be the last. Despite Bayless being proven wrong, the Lakers are still five games under .500 and the frustration keeps growing for the players and the fans. This team needs to try and figure things out as soon as possible.
