Drake goated Montrezl Harrell into technical foul in season-opener (VIdeo)

Toronto Raptors superfan and brand ambassador Drake got into a war or words with Washington Wizards big man Montrezl Harrell. It didn’t end well for Harrell.

The Raptors best player in their first half against the Wizards may have actually been Drake. Toronto was down 24 points and only scored 37 in the first half against Washington in their first season without Kyle Lowry.

Drake will always support his hometown team, and considering he’s officially on the payroll after serving as their public eye en route to a championship in 2019, he’s likely to remain their most famous fan for quite some time.

This is far from the first time Drake got into it with an opposing player, as he infamously talked trash to Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green in the NBA Finals. It is the first time in recent memory it’s actually led to points for his team, however.

Can the Raptors be a playoff team in 2021?

Toronto making the postseason would be a bit of a surprise given the lack of any real veteran presence. Gone are the days of old, when the Raps were led by any one of Lowry, DeMar DeRozan or Kawhi Leonard. Pascal Siakam remains, but this is the same Raps team that went 27-45 just last season.

The Raptors success will depend much on the play of Goran Dragic and Fred VanVleet in the backcourt. OG Anunoby and Siakam should be relatively solid in the frontcourt.
