Look: Hands were thrown in wild NBA Summer League kerfuffle

NBA Summer League has been a treat to watch so far, but Kings forward Chimezie Metu reaped what he sowed after coming for the Mavs’ Eugene Omoruyi in a scuffle after the whistle.

We’ve been getting basketball non-stop this year and it’s been great to experience, especially when we had to experience the bubble, wubble and whatever else you can rhyme with that word. To add, the performances of some of these incoming rookies have been exciting to say the least and hype beast fuel at most.

But not all of the glitters have been gold, especially this past weekend with a few tensions rising in some of the matchups. Though there has been friendly competition so far, there’s also been blood boiling tangle-ups as well.

Chimezie Metu “tried to take Eugene Omoruyi’s soul” in the Summer League matchup between the Mavs and the Kings, resulting in a tie-up

Sometimes things can get heated between players, this is nothing new in any sport. We got to see it firsthand on Sunday in the game between the Sacramento Kings and the Dallas Mavericks.

Kings forward Chimezie Metu was on the way to posterizing Dallas Maverick, Eugene Omoruyi. Omoruyi, who didn’t want to go out sad, took the wrong route… instead of moving or taking a charge, he initiated a hard foul. Metu, luckily unscathed, quickly gets up and gives Omoruyi a quick jab. Thankfully, the teammates broke it up before it could get worse.

The results of the tie-up was a flagrant two on Omoruyi and punching foul on Metu. Not the greatest look, especially with Metu in his fourth season and Omoruyi signing a two-way contract with the Mavs and the Texas Legends in his first year.

The biggest take away is avoid the poster at all costs… it’ll be ugly either way. Just ask the Raptors.
