Atlanta Hawks, NBA Playoffs, Philadelphia 76ers

The Atlanta Hawks won Game 5 on the court and on Twitter

The Atlanta Hawks won Game 5 on the court by a final score of 109-106, but they won on Twitter by a landslide.

The Atlanta Hawks pulled off a comeback for the ages on Wednesday night, on the road no less. Trailing by 25 points with just minutes left in the third quarter, the Hawks exploded for 40 points in the fourth to steal a game from Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers.

Sixers fans want Doc Rivers fired. Over in Atlanta, the social media team deserves a raise.

This series has been full of trash talk, swearing at fans, Oscar-worthy flops and more. On Wednesday night, the Hawks won the social media game with the simplest of replies to the Sixers halftime gloating.

Up more than 20 points at the half, the Sixers tweeted the score like they didn’t even break a sweat.

Following Philadelphia’s epic collapse, the Hawks fired back postgame with three little emojis that said it all.

Hawks win Game 5 and social media

As their opponents fell flat on their faces, the Hawks social media team kindly suggested someone call an ambulance.

With the 76ers going ice cold — the only players to make a shot from the field in the second half were Embiid and Seth Curry — even the Atlanta Falcons joined in on the fun.

Game 6 goes Friday night at 7:30 p.m. ET in Atlanta. If we’ve learned anything so far in this series, it’s to expect plenty of drama. Buckle up, NBA fans!
