Fan got murked by security for running on court during 76ers-Wizards game (Video)

A fan ran onto the court and got tackled by security during Game 4 between the Philadelphia 76ers and Washington Wizards.

Things got weird during Game 4 in Washington when a fan ran onto the court while the 76ers and the Wizards battled it out in the third quarter.

Normally that’s the kind of thing you might expect during a baseball, soccer or football game. It turns out, even basketball fans have the urge to crash the playing surface.

Security made sure the guy didn’t get very far. He was tackled before he even got inbounds.

Someone got video of the fan being arrested after he got taken down.

The Wizards were up by six in the third quarter when the fan interrupted the game.

In a playoffs full of fan incidents, this is just another wild moment to talk about. A fan threw a water bottle at Kyrie Irving while Russell Westbrook had popcorn dropped on him and Immanuel Quickley said a fan dumped beer on him. Meanwhile, in Utah, fans harrassed Ja Morant’s parents.

At least this guy didn’t make any players the target of projectiles or harassment.

It won’t change the outcome for him though. He’s not going to be let back into Capital One Arena any time soon. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, he’s been banned and the DC police plan to pursue charges. You’d have to ask him if it was worth it.

It’s great to have teams out of the bubble after a weird 2020 playoffs. However, it would be nice if fans kept the antics to a minimum and stuck to cheering on their teams with as much positive energy as possible instead of disrupting games.
