Injuries have certainly taken their toll on Los Angeles and Golden State this season. They are a big reason why the Lakers will host the Warriors in the No. 7 vs. No. 8 play-in game on Wednesday night. The winner of the game between Pacific Division rivals will emerge as the No. 7 seed and will face another divisional foe in the No. 2-seeded Suns in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
While the loser of this game is not eliminated, their season will be on life support, as they take on the winner of the No. 9 vs. No. 10 game between the Memphis Grizzlies and the San Antonio Spurs for the right to be the No. 8 seed. All that aside, James’ belief in Curry being this year’s MVP is a testament to the marvelous job Curry has done to carry this also-ran team to the postseason.
Though Jokic will win NBA MVP, that should not take away from the great season Curry has had.
