Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks

Knicks fans are so excited they had a NSFW chant for the Nets (Video)

New York Knicks fans are so excited about their team they got a NSFW chant about the Brooklyn Nets going.

Following the New York Knicks‘ 120-103 win over the Toronto Raptors on Saturday afternoon, basketball fans in the Big Apple were feeling pretty pumped about their team.

And why wouldn’t they? The Knicks have won nine straight games, Tom Thibodeau has turned the franchise around in his first season on the job as a leading Coach of the Year candidate, Julius Randle is an All-Star and Most Improved Player frontrunner, RJ Barrett is turning heads, Immanuel Quickley is having a great rookie season … the list goes on and on for this resilient, exciting team.

Fueled by the excitement of Knicks basketball being “back,” fans outside Madison Square Garden celebrated the win with a “Let’s go Knicks!” chant.

And then one person started a new chant that spread like wildfire: “F**k the Nets!”

Knicks fans are ready for the Nets

These fans are clearly feeling themselves right now. New York was two games below .500 before this win streak started, and even at 34-27, they’re still only fourth in the Eastern Conference standings. Good luck telling that to this group of fans though, since they apparently feel the Knicks are ready to take on the Brooklyn Nets now.

Led by Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving and head coach Steve Nash, the Nets are first in the East with a 40-20 record, despite missing all three stars for significant portions of the season. They’re a legitimate title contender, and when healthy, their three best players might be better than New York’s best player.

However, whether it was mob mentality or pure belief that fueled this NSFW chant, it’s become quite clear the Big Apple rivalry is finally worth investing in now that both teams are good. And if this group of fans is to be believed, a potential playoff series between these two teams in the second round would have supporters heated on both sides.
