NBA Trade Rumors, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Philadelphia 76ers

76ers pick up veteran point guard George Hill in Thunder, Knicks trade

The 76ers have landed veteran point guard George Hill in a three-team trade with the Thunder and Knicks ahead of today’s 3 p.m. EST NBA trade deadline.

While anticipation for a Kyle Lowry trade continues to build, an Eastern Conference contender has just added a very solid veteran point guard piece. In a three-team trade involving the New York Knicks and Oklahoma City Thunder, the Philadelphia 76ers are acquiring thirteen-year veteran George Hill.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Sixers are sending Tony Bradley, Terrance Ferguson and two future second-round picks to the Thunder to make it happen.

The trade will reportedly be a three-team deal that will include Austin Rivers heading to the Thunder. Wojnarowski noted Ferguson will go to the Knicks in the deal.

Additionally, the 76ers also pick up Iggy Brazdeikis.

George Hill adds veteran leadership to 76ers

Hill, has been out since Jan. 24 with a thumb injury but averaged almost 12 points and three assists in just over 26 minutes in 14 games this season. He shot 50.8 percent from the field and 38.8 percent from 3-point range, still proving to be highly efficient offensively. Theo Maledon‘s improved offense for OKC likely made Hill a moveable piece.

At 34-years-old, Hill has proven himself to be an outstanding role player on all of the eight teams he’s been on thus far. Hill will likely be Ben Simmons‘ back up and take some of the minutes of rookie point guard Tyrese Maxey as the 76ers gear up for a playoff push and Joel Embiid‘s return.
