Paul George explains how hard it is to defend the new-look Brooklyn Nets

After the Clippers’ four-point loss to the Nets last night, Paul George explained why it’s so hard to stop them.

The Los Angeles Clippers fell to the Brooklyn Nets in one of the most highly anticipated games of this young NBA season on Tuesday night. A score of 124-120 was left on the scoreboard as the Clipper failed to complete their comeback. The matchup didn’t disappoint in the slightest and despite the narrative of a lack of Nets defense, which certainly holds weight, the game was a joy to watch as the teams went back and forth.

Kyrie Irving led all scorers with a season-high 39 points on the evening, going 15-of-23 from the field and 6-of-8 from 3. Kevin Durant only missed twice from the field on his way to 28 points while James Harden wasn’t far behind with a 23-point, 14-assist, and 11-rebound triple-double. There’s not much you can do when the guys you are playing against can go out and do this every night.

That’s what Paul George and the Clippers found out as they struggled to come up with stops late In the game. The Nets went on a 13-0 run late where either Durant, Irving, or Harden scored all the points to close out the win.

Paul George describes the Brooklyn Nets offense

After the loss, Paul George explained what it was like to have to defend so much talent at once. “I thought there was a stretch where we played great defense, were in their face and it was almost like each one of them took turns making a shot,” said George.”The fact of the matter is they have some of the best iso players in the world.”

The Clippers got 33 points from Kawhi Leonard in the loss. George put up 26 points and Nicolas Batum added 21 points. There was some questionable shot-taking and decision-making down the stretch that made it tough for Ty Lue and the Clippers to get into a position to win the game. The Nets and Clippers both currently sit as the No. 2 teams in their respective conferences and will be looking to contend for NBA Championships.
