How concerning is Anthony Davis’ new injury diagnosis?

A new injury has popped up on the report for Lakers big man Anthony Davis and he’s officially been ruled out of Monday’s matchup with the Thunder.

The Los Angeles Lakers are currently the No. 2 team in the Western Conference behind the Utah Jazz. They barely survived a tough game against Detroit on Saturday though, narrowly escaping with a 135-129 win in a game in which the Pistons were without Derrick Rose, Blake Griffin, and Wayne Ellington. It took some double overtime heroics from LeBron James to lift the Lake Show over the Pistons but they got it done.

Anthony Davis did his part in the win with 30 points and five rebounds but this year hasn’t gone quite the way AD may have hoped. Some of his numbers are down a bit. His scoring average has dropped 4 points from last year to 22.3 and his free throw percentage to 70.2%, which is one of the lowest averages in the Laker rotation.

While Davis’s stats surely aren’t a cause for concern, his injury report may be. The superstar will be sidelined this evening. The Lakers will be without the All-Star big man tonight as they face the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Anthony Davis has been ruled out Monday night with an Achilles injury

This year has been one of nagging injuries for AD. Prior to yesterday, an Achilles issue wasn’t on the radar for Davis.

Now it seems that Davis is experiencing some soreness around his Achilles on his right foot.

We’ll see if Davis is able to recover from his injuries and get back to dominating the NBA. With All-Star weekend swiftly approaching he’ll certainly want to continue to make his case.
