De’Aaron Fox thinks having an NBA All-Star Game this year is ‘stupid’

With the NBA potentially getting ready to host the All-Star Game this season, Sacramento Kings star De’Aaron Fox couldn’t be more against the idea.

Believe it or not, the NBA All-Star Game could be coming to your television sets in early March. While it would certainly be great to see the best players in the world put on a show on the same hardwood, the fact that this is on the table in the middle of a pandemic doesn’t sit well with many.

This includes Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox. This week, the standout made it quite clear he’s against the All-Star Game taking place due to the coronavirus pandemic, with cases continuing to rise across the country.

De’Aaron Fox is against the All-Star Game potentially taking place next month

“If I’m going to be brutally honest, I think it’s stupid,” Fox said via ESPN. “If we have to wear a mask and do all of this for a regular game, then what’s the point of bringing the All-Star Game back?

“Obviously, money makes the world go round, so it is what it is.”

While Fox isn’t a fan of the idea of there being an All-Star Game, he said he would definitely play in the game if he was voted in. That’s looking entirely possible, as he’s in the middle of a sensational season for the Kings. As of this writing, Fox is averaging 22.2 points and 6.6 assists per outing.

Those are certainly the kinds of numbers that would lead to All-Star votes. While it’s still up in the air if there even will be an All-Star Game, it the league does go through with it, multiple players may not be too fired up to play because of COVID-19. We’ll see what happens.
