Boston Celtics, NBA Playoffs, Toronto Raptors

OG Anunoby hits improbable buzzer-beater to save Raptors from 3-0 deficit (Video)

OG Anunoby deserves a statue after this game-winner over the Celtics.

OG Anunoby stepped on the Boston Celtics‘ face with a hobnail boot and broke their nose.

The defending NBA champion Toronto Raptors were about to go down 0-3 to the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Boston has looked like the best team in the Eastern Conference this postseason, having already swept another division rival in the Philadelphia 76ers. Well, Anunoby and Kyle Lowry took one look at Tacko Fall and said internally, “Not today, Satan.”

Kyle Lowry’s pass to OG Anunoby was Joe Montana to Dwight Clark-level stuff

Celtics head coach Brad Stevens brought in a 7-foot-6 behemoth of a man to stop the inbounds pass. It didn’t matter that Fall starred collegiately down the road at UCF, the password was not Tacko tonight. It was not Tacko Tuesday, but OG Thirsty Thursday and he made it rain when his team needed it the most. Anunoby has officially achieved Toronto statue status in Jurassic Park.

For everybody who hates the Celtics and New England sports in general, this was fantastic. If you’re a New England sports fan, whatever, you’ve won enough championships this century already and Canadians are so nice! Perhaps this improbable victory will be propels the Raptors to the Eastern Conference Finals, but this of course remains to be seen. Just last season after losing their first two ECF games to the Milwaukee Bucks, the Raps won four straight on their way to a Finals appearance. Will history repeat itself? For now, however, the Heat appear the more likely opponent given their two-game lead over Milwaukee.

Raptors vs. Heat. Blue Jays vs. Marlins. Drake vs. Pitbull. This is what we need. All of Canada vs. South Florida in the bubble to face the winner of the Battle of Los Angeles. Sleep now in the fire, as we just saw the best shot of the 2020 NBA playoffs. The Original Gangster from went Alonzo Mourning all over the Celtics. While he didn’t even Kevin McHale’s career, that tall Fall failed.

Well, come on and shine Raptors because you have to be feeling better now after that shot.
