Kevin Durant picks Clippers to beat the Bucks in the NBA Finals

Despite not playing in the bubble, Kevin Durant has his thoughts on this year’s NBA Champion.

When it comes to NBA gossip, podcasts may be the greatest invention yet, becoming the place for players to reveal thoughts that may never otherwise emerge.

On the latest episode of the “Play for Keeps” podcast, Kevin Durant was asked to pick this year’s NBA Finals champion and he had the following to say.

If I had to choose — and I hate doing that s— because you never know what could happen, you seen that with us last year — but if I had to choose, I’ll go with Clippers and Bucks for the championship … And I’ll go with the Clippers.

Durant didn’t leave it at that but backed up his opinion as well. He cited the team’s depth and the fact that they are yet to be at full strength this season, while also celebrating PG and Kawhi as two of the best wing players in all of basketball.

Do you agree with Kevin Durant’s NBA Finals pick?

In the East, Milwaukee seems like a sensible decision. With KD’s Nets unlikely to make any sort of run in the playoffs, he is at no fault going against his team and choosing the favorites instead. But the fact that the undermanned Nets just defeated the Bucks may have prevented him from dubbing them the NBA Champions.

Out West, Durant has faced up against both LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard numerous times before. He’s also lost to both and knows just how good these two greats are. The argument of Kawhi and PG’s value could be easily countered by LeBron and AD, but the difference to KD is the depth. When looking at these two teams, though, you can’t really go wrong either way.

While he has the chance, KD has given us his Finals pick. It may be the last we hear of him too, as you can bet he will predict the trophy is coming to Brooklyn next season.
