Zion Williamson added to his ever-growing highlight-reel with another out-of-this-world alley-oop.
Just like NBC in the 90s, Zion Williamson is must-see TV.
If you’re not watching him every game the New Orleans Pelicans are on ESPN or TNT, you need to fix that because he does something every night no one else can do.
On Friday night, Zion caught an alley-oop off the backboard and still managed to throw it down as only he can.
This is an atrocious pass and Doris Burke says as much on the ESPN broadcast, but since the Pelicans rookie phenom is not of this world, he can get his paws on it and still give his teammate the assist. Burke is almost in disbelief on the call.
If he is not in the Slam Dunk Contest next year, they may as well just cancel it so we can watch Zion dunks on YouTube until the 3-point contest gets underway.
This isn’t even really that amazing in the long line of Zion highlights, but it’s still something that foretells the special things he’s capable of now and in the future. You know, like when he’s no longer a teenager?!
The No.1 pick out of Duke is quickly making up for lost time after being shelved due to injury until Jan. 22 when he scored 22 points in 18 minutes in his debut. He’s more than lived up to the hype. It’s so easy to get excited about his future in the league, as long as he can stay healthy.
Zion is averaging 24 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while only averaging 29.5 minutes per contest for the Pelicans who entered Friday night five games back of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference standings.
