Kings’ Bagley to miss 1-2 weeks with knee sprain

Kings rookie Marvin Bagley III is expected to miss up to two weeks after an MRI exam on his injured left knee Thursday revealed a sprain.

Sacramento says its fourth leading scorer and the No. 2 overall pick out of Duke will be re-evaluated in one to two weeks. That means Bagley could miss as many as five games with his sprained knee.

Bagley was hurt when he ran into a pick set by the Bucks’ Malcolm Brogdon near midcourt in the second half of Wednesday night’s 141-140 overtime loss to Milwaukee. He immediately went down clutching his knee and needed help from two team teammates while leaving the court.

Bagley had nine points before exiting. He was averaging 18.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, 4.3 made free throws and 30.2 minutes in nine February games entering Wednesday’s game.

The Kings are in ninth place in the Western Conference, two games back of the LA Clippers for the final playoff spot.
