BIG3 adds Royce White, Kendrick Perkins, Shannon Brown, Daniel Gibson

BIG3 has announced the signings of NBA alumni Royce White, Kendrick Perkins, Shannon Brown and Daniel “Booby” Gibson for this upcoming league season.

Royce White will become one of BIG3’s youngest roster additions thanks to Ice Cube’s recent declaration of the league reducing the age of entry to 27. It’s another opportunity for a player stricken with a career-changing fear of flying to showcase his basketball talent, right in his prime.

White’s anxiety issues first started to come to light when it was reported by ESPN that he informed the Houston Rockets (his draft team) he’d like to travel by private bus. There were those who didn’t understand how much it took out of White to even reveal the fear, privately or publicly, knowing it would potentially make him subject to embarrassing ridicule as an NBA player.

After departing the NBA, White became the NBL Canada MVP and a Champion in 2017, then a Scoring Champion in 2018, all with the London Lightning. BIG3’s signing of White couldn’t arrive at a better time for a player getting his life passion back on track. At 27, White gets an opportunity at redemption on the big stage once again.

White, who played for Iowa State, is one of the only talents in college basketball history to lead a team in all five major statistical categories.

BIG3 also recently announced the formidable, shot-blocking, NBA locker room favorite Kendrick Perkins has signed on. Perkins was on the Cleveland Cavaliers last season, had a memorable stint on the OKC Thunder but is most remembered for his time on the Boston Celtics. Speaking of the Cleveland Cavaliers, fan favorite Daniel “Booby” Gibson has signed onto the BIG3! Gibson last played for the Cavaliers back in 2013. Time for some vintage 3s, or perhaps BIG3-style 4-pointers.

BIG3 will be welcoming NBA alumni Shannon Brown, who is most remembered from his time playing with Kobe Bryant on the Los Angeles Lakers. Brown last played for the NBA’s G League with Delaware Blue Coats (87ers), the Philadelphia 76ers’ affiliate team.
