Golden State Warriors, Portland Trail Blazers

Kevin Durant roasts C.J. McCollum on his own podcast

C.J. McCollum made the rookie mistake of trying to verbally box with offseason Kevin Durant.

Poor C.J. McCollum. He had Kevin Durant on his “Pull Up” podcast, hoping to get some insight from the two-time Finals MVP. Instead, Durant entered his home, didn’t take his shoes off and stomped all over McCollum’s couch.

The Portland Trail Blazers guard started by expressing his displeasure with DeMarcus Cousins’ signing with the Golden State Warriors. When Durant asked him why he was mad, McCollum said, “Bro, I’m in the league. What do you mean why am I mad about this stuff? I’m in the Western Conference. I gotta play you MFers all the time anyway as it is, over and over again. We got eliminated by y’all a few times in the first round. So I’m looking at [Cousins].”

At this point, Durant cuts him off and fires off the first round. “I mean… you know you guys aren’t going to win a championship.”

Bang. Right to the chest. Durant continued by telling CJ to “get out yo’ feelings” and “don’t worry about what goes on at the top.”

McCollum pleads his case, saying Portland were a three seed last year, just below the Warriors and Houston Rockets. This too ended poorly for CJ.

KD: But how’d you play?

CJ: Some unfortunate situations happened in the first round.

KD: How’d you play?

CJ: Some unfortunate circumstances.

KD: Like a eight seed.

Headshot. If anything, Durant was too kind to McCollum. At least the No. 8 seed Minnesota Timberwolves managed to win a game from the Rockets. The Blazers were swept by the New Orleans Pelicans in the first round.

CJ should have known better. Whether it’s him or his burner accounts, Warriors Durant is an elite level offseason trash talker.
