The former New York Knicks star takes a shot at LeBron James’ hair
LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers haven’t had the greatest of times inside the NBA’s Walt Disney World bubble. Even after clinching the first seed in the Western Conference, the Lakers struggled in Game 1 of their first-round series against the Portland Trail Blazers. James credited the Lakers’ off-performances at “The Happiest Place on Earth” to the lack of fans in attendance earlier this month.
After the Lakers’ loss, former New York Knicks star Stephon Marbury took to Instagram Live and unleashed scathing comments towards “King James.” First, he criticized James’ Game 1 effort. Then, Marbury oddly took a shot at his hair, for some reason.
Marbury made some interesting claims about LeBron’s bald spot
As seen in the tweets above, Marbury blasted James for trying to cover up the bald spot on his head. Then, Marbury alleged that James pays off networks such as ESPN and TNT to film him at angles that don’t focus on his hair. That’s an interesting claim from “Starbury,” to say the least.
Marbury has been known to be critical of James over the years. He does says that James is an amazing basketball player, but he notices flaws in his game that he believes hold him back from being the greatest of all-time. In fact, Marbury told Brandon “Scoop B” Anderson of Heavy.com that ESPN’s docuseries, “The Last Dance,” will prove that Michael Jordan is the superior basketball player over LeBron.
After Marbury’s comments came to light, the Lakers happened to even up their series against the Trail Blazers on Thursday night, but James was a shocking non-factor. James tallied 10 points, seven assists and six rebounds while shooting 36.3-percent from the field. That was a far cry from his triple-double performance in Game 1.
Criticism of his performance and hair is nothing new for LeBron, so don’t expect him to lose much sleep over Marbury’s comments.
