Luka Doncic is working on a hilarious signature move for NBA return

Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic has a new weapon in his arsenal

After months of inactivity caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, hoops fans are glad to welcome the NBA back into their lives. 22 teams have reported to the “happiest place on Earth,” Walt Disney World, for the resumption of the 2019-20 season. That means there’s plenty of content to take in on social media.

If there’s one player to follow, its Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic. During practice at the team’s hotel this week, the shooting guard tried his hand at some insane trick shots. He managed to nail a perfect shot by hitting the ceiling of the ballroom.

Doncic topped himself on Saturday by actually kicking the ball into the hoop from well beyond the three-point line. And he hit nothing but net!

Doncic is having fun during his work vacation

Prior to the season’s pause due to the global pandemic, the Mavericks held a strong hold over seventh place in the Western Conference, leading the eighth place Memphis Grizzlies by seven games. A playoff berth is all but locked up, barring the team losing all eight play-in games.

This season, Doncic put his rookie campaign to shame, which we thought was impossible. Through 54 games, the Slovenian guard averaged 28.7 points, 8.7 assists, and 9.3 rebounds, while shooting 46.1% from the field and 31.8% from behind the arc. To top it all off, Doncic earned his first ever All Star Game nomination.

You can’t fault Doncic for having some fun during practice. He is at an entertainment resort, after all! But once the season kicks off on July 30, Doncic will be all business.

Besides, if Doncic tried to pull this off during a playoff game, we’re pretty sure he’d get an earful from head coach Rick Carlisle!
