Clips’ George ruled out with hamstring tightness

LOS ANGELES — LA Clippers star Paul George was ruled out of Thursday night’s game against the Detroit Pistons with tightness in his left hamstring.

George went back to the locker room with 3:45 remaining in the second quarter. At the end of the half, the team said the guard was questionable to return.

The Clippers started the second half with Rodney McGruder in place of George. The team eventually ruled George out after pushing its lead to as much as 26 points in the third.

George left the game with 12 points in 16 minutes.

The Clippers next play on Saturday in the first of a home back-to-back set against Memphis and New York.
