LeBron feeling ill, is game-time decision vs. Pels

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is feeling ill and is a game-time decision for Friday night’s game, coach Luke Walton said.

James was not at Lakers shootaround. Walton said he was getting extra sleep prior to Friday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans (10:30 p.m. ET, ESPN/ESPNApp).

“We got a sick team right now,” Walton said. “… We’re a little banged up but we expect for whoever is ready to play tonight, that they give us a great effort in front of our home crowd.”

In addition to James, JaVale McGee is battling the flu and fellow big men Tyson Chandler and Ivica Zubac each have had IVs. So far, only McGee has been ruled out for Friday.

The news isn’t all bad for the Lakers as Brandon Ingram (ankle) and Rajon Rondo (hand) are both available to play.

ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk contributed to this report.
