CP3 strains hamstring in 1st half, done for night

Houston Rockets point guard Chris Paul suffered a strained left hamstring and will not return against the Miami Heat on Thursday night.

Paul played 12 minutes and had four points before exiting in the second quarter.

He lost control of the ball while dribbling past midcourt, and while attempting to take it away from Miami’s Derrick Jones Jr., Paul grabbed at the hamstring before exiting the court.

Paul, 33, suffered a right hamstring strain in the playoffs last season, missing Games 6 and 7 of the Western Conference finals — both losses — against the Golden State Warriors.

Houston is 0-5 when Paul doesn’t play this season.
