Coby White picked up most unnecessary flagrant 1 foul on Anthony Davis possible

Chicago Bulls guard Coby White picked up an obvious flagrant 1 foul for his actions against Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis.

This past Sunday, the Chicago Bulls defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in LeBron James’ first game back from a right foot tendon injury. It was a revenge game for Patrick Beverley, who was on the Lakers for the start of the season, but was dealt at the trade deadline. For the Lakers, they had the chance to get some revenge, as they began their five-game road trip in Chicago, with a chance to get a win against the Bulls.

In the fourth quarter, however, Bulls guard Coby White’s actions against Lakers forward Anthony Davis entered the spotlight. White appeared to be going after the basketball which Dennis Schroeder possessed, but Davis stood in his way. So White begins pushing Davis with his shoulder, but then appears to elbow him below the belt.

White was assessed a flagrant 1 foul, which gave Davis two free throw attempts. Davis made one of them to give the Lakers a 98-81 lead with eight minutes left in regulation. Davis and White remained in the game.

The Lakers went on to win the game 121-110, bringing them back to .500. As for the Bulls, they fell to 36-40 on the season.

This was one of White’s four fouls in the game. As for how he performed in the game, he 17 points while making 6-of-11 of his shots from the field and 3-of-7 of his shots from the three-point line. White also recorded nine assists, two rebounds and one assist in 26 minutes played off the bench.

As for Davis, he scored a team-high 38 points (13-for-20 from field, 11-for-14 from free throw line) and hauled in 10 rebounds to record a double-double. Davis also recorded four assists, two steals, and two blocks.

The Lakers will move on to Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves on Friday. As the Bulls head to Charlotte to face the Hornets on Friday.
