LeBron James will not play against the Utah Jazz on Monday because of left foot soreness, the Los Angeles Lakers announced.
It is the second leg of a back-to-back. In addition to the foot soreness, James is overcoming an illness that affected him last week.
James scored 27 points on 13-of-23 shooting in the Lakers’ 114-100 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday.
The Lakers (2-7) also announced that guards Patrick Beverley, who missed the Sunday game, and Lonnie Walker will be out Monday because of non-COVID-19 illness.
Anthony Davis, who had 19 points and 12 rebounds in the loss to the Cavaliers, is listed as probable with low-back tightness.
ESPN’s Dave McMenamin contributed to this report.
