Kevin Durant’s brother shoots down Trail Blazers rumors

Damian Lillard and other Trail Blazers seemed to shoot their shot with Kevin Durant amid trade rumors but KD’s brother was quick to pour some cold water.

Another Brooklyn Nets shakeup seems almost inevitable at this point. After the team sent James Harden away in a trade for Ben Simmons ahead of the deadline this past season, the apparent rift between Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and the front office seems as if it could lead to one or both of the star players suiting up for another team in the 2022-23 season.

As to where that might be remains unclear at this point, however — but that hasn’t stopped some players for shooting their shots.

On Saturday, Portland Trail Blazers star guard Damian Lillard and big man Jusuf Nurkic posted photoshops on social media featuring Durant in the full PDX uniform. In typical fashion, that got the rumor mill spinning about a potential move for Durant to Portland.

Durant’s brother was not about to see people waste their time with that speculation, though.

Kevin Durant trade rumors: KD’s brother axes Trail Blazers hopes

On Instagram, the account “@sidelinesources” posted about Lillard and Nurkic’s post with the caption that the pair of Trail Blazers were “looking for that missing piece.” Tony Durant, KD’s brother, hopped into the comments section and offered a frank response to the rumors, saying simply, “Noooooooooo sir”.

Nets fans can rest easy-ish. Kevin Durant seemingly isn’t about to be a Trail Blazer. Unfortunately, there are 28 other teams in the league and most of them, if the superstar is even remotely available in a trade this offseason, will be interested.

It’s been said before that the drama of the NBA offseason is unmatched. With players trying to recruit a player for a trade that has only been speculated about to this point and then another player’s brother chiming in, it’s safe to say that title remains intact.
