The New Orleans Pelicans say Brandon Ingram had surgery on his right fifth finger Tuesday and is expected to be sidelined six to eight weeks.
According to the team, the surgery was to address a flexion contracture.
The Pelicans didn’t say what prompted the procedure, but Ingram did jam his right ring and pinkie fingers during Game 5 of the team’s playoff series against the Phoenix Suns. He was able to play in Game 6, when the Suns closed out the first-round series.
Ingram averaged 22.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists this season for New Orleans.
