Kevin Durant throws shade at KAT for ‘best big man shooter’ claim

While Karl-Anthony Towns might believe he’s the best big man shooter ever, Kevin Durant isn’t going to let that comment slide.

Karl-Anthony Towns raised plenty of eyebrows when he called himself the best big man shooter of all time. Seriously? While Towns is a fantastic talent and can drill shots from all over the hardwood, Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant doesn’t agree with him.

Matter of fact, Durant called KAT out, saying there’s just no way that he owns that honor. Instead, Durant said he’s going with Dirk Nowitzki. A lot of people are agreeing with Durant’s choice.

Kevin Durant calling out Karl-Anthony Towns was perfect

Durant didn’t think twice about his decision. It’s hard to argue with him, as Nowitzki will go down as one of the best shooters of his generation. Despite being a 7-footer, Nowitzki was brilliant on the perimeter. You’d expect him to be down in the low post with his great height, but Nowitzki was born to drill trey balls.

Nowitzki was a 14-time All-Star, averaging 20.7 points for his career. No Dallas Mavericks fans will ever forget when he helped power the team to an NBA Finals win over LeBron James and the Miami Heat. Nowitzki was emotional after that title win and rightfully so.

Soon enough, Nowitzki will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Towns has enjoyed a magnificent start to his career, but he doesn’t belong in the same conversation as Nowitzki right now. This is something Durant knows all too well.

Towns is in the prime of his career and could end up winning an NBA Finals one day too. In terms of the best big man shooter of all time, though, he needs to think twice before continuing to say it’s him.
