Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers

LeBron and Kevin Love are both loving LeBron’s monster poster dunk

Former Cavaliers teammates LeBron James and Kevin Love are as close as ever—even after LeBron embarrassed love with a monstrous poster dunk.

Initially, the reunion between LeBron James and Kevin Love at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse was a joyous one, with LeBron and KLove embracing like old times.

That all changed toward the end of the second quarter, when LeBron ran up on the basket for a dunk and Love froze. LeBron leapt up and dunked on Love, shoving him onto the court in an embarrassing poster moment.

The Lakers ended up winning the game 131-120, but Love wasn’t going to let LeBron live down how he did him wrong with that dunk. Love visited LeBron on the sideline and roped his arm around his neck as the two laughed.

“Did you see the bear hug and the throat grab he gave me before the second half?” LeBron asked. “I think we’re even now.”

LeBron James and Kevin Love have fun with posterizing moment

After the win, LeBron was asked where his Kevin Love poster ranks among his career moments.

“At the very last spot because it’s KLove. When I turned that corner and I looked up, I was like, ‘No, please Kev, just move,’” James said. “He should know once I get that GoGo Gadget calf muscle and get going, I’m going to take off. I just hated that it happened to be him, so I’m gonna even take that one out of my posters. I didn’t like that one because that’s my guy.”

After the game, Love joked that he wouldn’t mess with LeBron for the next two days, while LeBron asked for forgiveness. LeBron even went as far to say that Love could rescind his wedding invitation since Love is set to marry model Kate Bock this summer.

Though LeBron did come away with a revenge win on Cleveland, it’s clear that posterizing his best bud Kev was never part of the plan.
