Kevin Durant burns Knicks, fans to a crisp after Nets comeback win

Kevin Durant had some fun on Twitter after the Brooklyn Nets roared back to beat the New York Knicks in Madison Square Garden Wednesday evening.

Kevin Durant got the last laugh after the Brooklyn Nets got off to a horrible start Wednesday evening.

The New York Knicks, hosting the Nets, jumped out to a 38-18 lead at the end of the first quarter. This game was incredibly lopsided for much of the first three quarters. On multiple occasions throughout much of the game, it appeared as if the Knicks were going to completely crush the Nets.

And yet, that did not happen.

The Nets roared back and managed to earn a solid 111-106 victory over the Knicks. Considering the Nets trailed for much of the evening (and they often trailed by double digits), that’s a very respectable win.

Brooklyn Nets: Kevin Durant roasts the New York Knicks and their fans on Twitter

As for the Knicks? Well, that’s a truly embarrassing loss. This is a game that the Knicks should have won with ease. And again, that did not happen.

But it’s not clear what was worse for the Knicks: the final score or the way fans showed up for the game. Either way, Durant took the opportunity to get in a not-so-subtle dig as he praised Nets fans for supporting their team and pointed out how it felt like a home game.

As for Durant, he himself did not play.

The Nets weren’t even remotely at full strength as Durant rested while he heals up ahead of the playoffs. It’s not entirely clear when Durant will return, but hopefully, he will be healed up and available sooner rather than later.
