Michael Porter Jr. of the Denver Nuggets had a wide-open layup during Saturday’s game against Houston Rockets, and missed it.
When you get a wide-open layup attempt as an NBA star, you have to make the most of it. Unfortunately for Michael Porter Jr. of the Denver Nuggets, he missed on that opportunity during Saturday’s game against the Houston Rockets.
In the first quarter, Porter had a wide open lane to the basket and went to leap for what should have been an easy layup attempt. Instead, he completely bungled it and prevented an easy two points for the Nuggets.
Michael Porter Jr. leaves game with lower back soreness
As you can see in the video above, Porter gingerly walked on the court, appearing to grab at his left quad area and limped to the locker room. According to the Nuggets, Porter is questionable to return with lower back soreness.
Porter played a little over seven minutes in the first quarter, where he scored two points and grabbed four rebounds (all defensive), while shooting one-for-four from the field and zero-for-two from the three-point line.
Porter is off to a rough start with the Nuggets this season. Through eight games, the 23-year-old is averaging 10.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 36.4-percent from the field and 21.7-percent from the three-point line.
Porter missed the layup, and is now dealing with a sore back after the play.
