Golden State Warriors rookie Moses Moody says watching Klay Thompson shoot in person for the first time was an amazing experience.
Moses Moody may have watched the Splash Brothers go to work when he was in high school, but the Golden State Warriors rookie was blown away watching his new teammate Klay Thompson shoot in person.
“Man, it looks different in person, that was obviously my first time seeing it,” said Moody on The Jim Rome Show. “But watching that repetition, that exact same shot every one, I mean I sat there and watched him shoot for 20 minutes, and it didn’t touch the rim a lot, I can tell you that.”
Golden State used its No. 14 overall pick on Moody in the 2021 NBA Draft. Moody spent his lone year of college ball at Arkansas, where he made over 35 percent of his 3-point attempts in Fayetteville.
Thompson has yet to play in a game that counts since tearing his ACL in the 2019 NBA Finals.

For a guy who was drafted to get buckets off the bench for the Warriors, there is not a better shining example of catch-and-shoot these days than Thompson. The only guy who has been more prolific for as long from distance is his backcourt teammate Steph Curry. As long as Thompson has his health, Golden State should be back in the playoffs for the first time since the 2018-19 season.
What was interesting about the Warriors’ offseason was that they used both of their lottery picks instead of packaging No. 7 and No. 14 to another team for an established star more in line with Curry, Thompson and Draymond Green’s competitive timeline. Then again, perhaps the Warriors believe having youth in the rotation in Moody, Jonathan Kuminga and James Wiseman will help?
Moody watching Thompson go to work may do wonders in his continued development as a player.
