Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trail Blazers

Damian Lillard had jokes after Carmelo Anthony left Blazers for Lakers (Photo)

As the now Laker, Carmelo Anthony bids his farewell to Portland via Instagram. But Damian Lillard comes with a little shade in the comment section.

The news made waves across the internet as Carmelo Anthony of the Portland Trail Blazers became Carmelo Anthony of the Los Angeles Lakers. The reviews were mixed (per usual), but nonetheless, it remained a topic of conversation flowing into Wednesday.

Melo took to Instagram on Wednesday morning to let Portland fans know how grateful and thankful he was for the opportunity to play for the franchise. The love and support was actually prevalent throughout the comments, despite the abrupt move from small-market Portland to the Showtime Lakers. That makes for a heartwarming breakaway for the 18-year vet.

Well … heartwarming to a degree.

With all the love and support for Anthony’s move to L.A., Dame Lillard had some shade to throw in the IG comments

Despite all of the love and support for Melo, you could hardly expect a few jokes and shade to fall through the cracks.

From CJ McCollum demanding Anthony to return his FaceTime calls, to Norman Powell highlighting his dream team finally coming to fruition, it’s good to see that some people can find some laughs out of all of this and just enjoy the game. But Damian Lillard…

Oh Damian Lillard…

While words are up to interpretation, you could err on the side of shade in a comment like this. It’s just tongue-in-cheek and meant as a joke, but where’s the lie? He technically wouldn’t be able to buzz into the Blazers facility anymore. While it may be jokes, Lillard is actual and factual when it comes to what he has to say.
