Anthony Edwards appears to have hurt himself during Team USA practice Wednesday.
After a sensational rookie year, Anthony Edwards was selected to USA’s Select Team, a group of rising NBA stars helping the official USA Team prepare for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. The Rookie of the Year runner-up impressed many with his leaping ability during the NBA season, throwing down what might’ve been the dunk of the year against the Toronto Raptors.
Unfortunately, it looks like Edwards hurt himself at practice Wednesday, which is a scary sight for Minnesota Timberwolves fans.
Anthony Edwards was seen limping after Team USA practice.
T-Wolves fans will be holding their breath after seeing this Anthony Edwards video. The young shooting guard needed the assistants of teammates as he limped to the team bus from Team USA practice Wednesday.
In the video, Edwards is favoring his right side when he walks, and there is a noticeable limp. There has been no official word on the 19-year-old’s condition, but the video doesn’t seem like it’s too good. It is reportedly an ankle sprain:
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Edwards will miss the rest of Select Team training camp with the sprained ankle, but it is not believed to be serious.
Hopefully that’s the case and it’s not something that will impact his upcoming second NBA season in Minnesota in any way.
