The Chicago Bulls need to make several offseason moves in order to get back into the NBA postseason in 2022.
The Chicago Bulls showed plenty of promise this season, only to fall just outside the play-in tournament as the No. 11 seed. But fans should still be happy after seeing the team mesh with Billy Donovan on the bench instead of Jim Boylen.
The goal now is to take all the positive momentum and get into the playoffs next season. Here are a few things the Bulls should do in order to make that a reality.
3. The Chicago Bulls need to target a wing in the NBA Draft
The Bulls have a dominant guard in Zach LaVine and landed big man Nikola Vucevic to lead the fight down low. Now the team should target a strong wing player in the upcoming NBA Draft.
Yes, the Bulls did take small forward Patrick Williams with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2020 draft. And while his season was not spectacular, he did show flashes of success and averaged just over nine points per game. Having Williams does not mean the Bulls should stop stocking up on small forwards.
The tricky thing is the Bulls sent their first-round pick to Orlando in the Vucevic trade. However, it is top-4 protected. Finishing that high is unlikely, meaning it would take another trade to get back into the lottery and snag a wing player.
It is tough to project a specific player if we assume the Bulls will lose their pick to the Magic and end up with a scenario where they need to trade into the lottery. If they do that, this must be the type of player in mind.
