Mike Breen mistook 7-foot-6 Celtics big man Tacko Fall for a national fast food chain.
Breen is a legendary NBA broadcaster, so we’ll cut him some slack on this one. Nonetheless, the longtime voice of the New York Knicks and NBA on ESPN might’ve unintentionally given Fall a new nickname.
Does a man that tall even need a nickname? No one is going to mistake him for LeBron James or Kevin Durant. Fall is a full foot taller than pretty much anyone in the Association.
My point aside, Fall now has one. Everyone, meet Taco Bell.
Whether he wants to be named for the fast food chain, Fall has to own this, just like Breen did on the live telecast.
Tacko Fall has found a home with the Boston Celtics
Fall is in his second season in Boston, and while he’s spent some time with their G-League affiliate, he has a significant role as a backup big in limited minutes. Imagine trying to score over a 7-foot-6 behemoth, even if he’s played in just 18 games so far this season!
Breen, meanwhile, is in the Hall for a reason, and admitted to needing some sleep when called out by the Knicks color commentator.
A mistake is a mistake, but at least this one has some staying power.
