Anthony Davis speaks out about his latest injury timeline

Anthony Davis suffered yet another injury playing for the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday.

After missing two months’ worth of action for the Los Angeles Lakers, big man Anthony Davis had to exit Thursday night’s loss vs. the LA Clippers due to back spasms.

Though the Lakers are the defending NBA champions, their attempt at a repeat has been marred by injury all season long. Davis has missed more than half of his team’s game, while LeBron James has missed a ton as well with his injured ankle. Though James is expected to return early next week, Davis could be back in action as early as Friday night vs. the Portland Trail Blazers.

Here is the latest update regarding the health of the often-injured Lakers star.

Anthony Davis: When will he return to action for the Los Angeles Lakers?

This feels like a day-to-day thing for Davis. He had played in the Lakers’ previous eight games before bowing out on Thursday night after only nine minutes of court time. He had been averaging well over 30 minutes per contest the previous six games. While he may not play his normal allotment of minutes vs. Portland on Friday night, it sure does sound like he will start.

Ultimately, the Lakers need to be as healthy as they can be in the coming weeks. Los Angeles is more likely to play in the play-in tournament as a No. 7 to No. 10-seed in the Western Conference than to get into the top six. Though James despises the idea of the play-in tournament in general, beggars cannot be choosers. This feels like the Lakers’ postseason path, for better or worse.

Look for Davis to be back for the Lakers vs. the Trail Blazers on Friday night’s game in Portland.
