With the NBA trade deadline coming later this month, one name who figures to draw plenty of attention is Oklahoma City Thunder guard George Hill.
In two weeks time, the NBA trade deadline will arrive and teams across both conferences will look to improve their rosters by March 25. We’ve already seen plenty of names being floated around, and the list of course includes Oklahoma City Thunder guard George Hill.
According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, Hill will most certainly be a guy who teams will call in on to see if he can be moved in the coming weeks. Per Amick, the belief is that the Thunder will indeed be receiving calls from postseason contenders who will want to add Hill to their squad.
The Oklahoma City Thunder very well could end up trading George Hill this month
A veteran point guard, Hill is in his first season with the Thunder and is averaging 11.8 points per game. He’s not known for being a lights-out scorer, but Hill is no question a great passer and has fantastic court vision. This is why teams will no doubt be ready to try and land him this month.
Hill has bounced around and suited up with multiple teams, making plays for the Spurs, Pacers, Jazz, Kings, Cavaliers, Bucks and now the Thunder. Per Amick, Hill has a contract that pays him $9.5 million this year and there’s also a team option for the 2021-22 campaign that would pay him $10 million.
With the Thunder at 15-21 this season and not expected to make a run at the postseason, it could be wise for them to trade Hill and get a return that helps them build toward the future. We’ll see which teams inquire about Hill, but we could see him playing elsewhere soon.
