Clips’ George (ankle) doesn’t play in loss to Spurs

LOS ANGELES — LA Clippers guard Paul George was ruled out due to right ankle soreness before Tuesday night’s game against the San Antonio Spurs.

Clippers coach Ty Lue said that George tweaked his ankle during the Clippers’ 112-107 win in Phoenix on Sunday. George, who scored 39 points in 38 minutes during the win over the Suns, tested his ankle before the team made its decision prior to the game.

George is averaging 25.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.1 assists this season. Luke Kennard started against San Antonio in George’s place.

The Clippers play the second game of a back-to-back at Golden State on Wednesday.
