The Bucks set a new NBA record Tuesday night in Miami.
The Milwaukee Bucks needed a good game Tuesday night after suffering a 20-point defeat at the hands of the New York Knicks just two days prior. A record-setting win is a good way to bounce back.
The Bucks took down the Miami Heat by a final score of 144-97. Just your average, everyday destruction of the defending Eastern Conference champions.
Milwaukee’s big night only gets better from there, as the team combined to set a new NBA record with 29 made 3-pointers in the game.
Bucks set a new record in demolition of Heat
The previous record of 27 was held by the Houston Rockets. Now it belongs to the Bucks after a game in which 12 different players hit a shot from deep. In a bit of a twist, the only player not to make one was Giannis Antetokounmpo. He missed both of his attempts.
The final tally for the team was 29-for-51 from deep, and Jrue Holiday led the way with six makes from beyond the arc. Seven players made at least two 3-pointers on the record-setting night.
The Bucks are now 2-2, and both wins have come in absolute blowouts. First was a 138-99 beatdown of the Golden State Warriors. Now they have a 144-97 victory over one of the top teams in the NBA two days after getting whooped in Madison Square Garden.
This team is obviously not going to shoot this well from deep on a nightly basis. However, the Bucks have reached at least 120 points in three of their four games this season and may be impossible to slow down in a seven-game series.
Antentokounmpo also only scored 9 points against the Heat. If he has a normal night, then this record night might have been even more mind-boggling.
