Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry didn’t hold back in saying he cried after learning Klay Thompson suffered another season-ending injury.
In what feels like an absolute gun punch, the Golden State Warriors will be without Klay Thompson this season after he suffered a torn Achilles earlier this month. Thompson of course missed all of last year after suffering a torn ACL in 2019. The poor guy just can’t catch a break.
With millions feeling for Thompson, you better believe Steph Curry is also on the list. The two are a great duo on and off the court. Curry admitted without trepidation that his heart most certainly broke for his friend once he heard the news that he’d be sidelined for another season.
Steph Curry was downright heartbroken for Klay Thompson after he suffered a torn Achilles
In an interview with Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated, Curry said he was brought to tears over his friend’s injury. At the same time, Curry is ready to do whatever it takes to be supportive during this tough time.
“You feel for a guy who has worked so hard to get back on the court two-three weeks out of training camp and something like that happens,” Curry told Spears. “You need to have a big-picture mentality when something like this happens. It’s easier said than done going through a lot of rehab, but there is a lot of time left in his career. We’re going to be there through it all.”
A former first-round pick out of Washington State, Thompson has helped the Warriors win three NBA Finals since arriving to the league in 2011. With Thompson and Curry splashing 3-pointers with ease, they’ve formed one of the best duos NBA fans have ever seen.
While Thompson was getting ready to get back on the hardwood this winter, he’ll have to wait until next year to remind everyone of just how talented he is. Right now, though, his latest injury news is a total bummer for Curry and the rest of the squad.
