Did Kevin Hart break Draymond Green’s 3-point shot?

Is Kevin Hart the reason Draymond Green can’t shoot?

Kevin Hart taking on Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green in a 3-point shooting contest at All-Star Weekend a few years ago seemed like a harmless, if unusual, intermission between the 3-Point Shootout and the Dunk Contest. However, if one looks at the numbers, it might’ve messed up Green’s 3-point shot to the point where he is now a major detriment on offense.

In the three seasons before Hart and Green matched up against one another on All-Star weekend, Green shot 34 percent from beyond the 3-point line, which is a solid clip for a guy who isn’t known as a tremendous scorer. Since that night, per NBA Reddit, Green has been one of the worst shooters in the league at just 29 percent.

Draymond Green was always a decent shooter, but he has been bad in recent years

Green was supposed to take on more of the scoring load considering the departure of Kevin Durant and injuries to Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, but he managed just 8.0 points per game on 39 percent shooting from the floor. With a 28 percent success rate from 3, Draymond needs to put this year in the rear-view mirror.

Green will get his running mates back in 2020 as Curry and Thompson return to full health, but he needs to do his fair share on the offensive end. Maybe an overhaul of his awful shooting mechanics could help All-Star Draymond finally resurface.

Green is still one of the best defenders in the league, but he has become a complete liability on the offensive end of the floor. As odd as it sounds, that one 3-point contest with Hart might’ve caused irreparable damage, and that could bite the Warriors in the but over the course of the next season.
